The Philips IntelliVue MP70 cardiovascular monitors were selected as the hemodynamic monitors because of the success of use in the emergency department setting.  Being familiar with recognizable and easy to use equipment is paramount for successful and quality patient care during disaster situations.  Each ICU bed and monitor contains with 3-lead, 12-lead EKG and continuous ST segment trend analysis capability; noninvasive and invasive blood pressure, venous, and arterial monitoring; pulse oximetry and end-tidal CO2 quantitative and waveform analysis: gas analyzers for the OR monitors; and a central IntelliVue Information Center that monitors all 6 critical care beds.  MED-1 also includes additional portable HeartStart MRx defibrillator/monitor that may be used to expand the critical care bed capability.
